MSOD PROGRAMS
Whether you’re looking for a more laid-back, recreational dance experience, or a competitive environment, MSOD has the perfect program for your dancer.
RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

Our MSOD recreational dance program offers a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where dancers of all ages and experience levels can discover a love for dance. We provide instruction in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, hip hop, tumbling, and more for students ages two through 12th grade.
Classes are designed to build confidence, creativity, coordination, and technique while encouraging students to express themselves and enjoy the art of movement. Whether your child is taking their very first dance class or continuing their dance journey, our experienced and highly qualified instructors create age-appropriate lessons that foster growth, friendship, and a positive learning experience.
Our recreational program focuses on skill development, performance opportunities, and most importantly, having fun. Dancers will learn new techniques, perfect learned technique, develop discipline and teamwork, and create lasting memories.
Whether dancing for recreation, exercise, or personal growth, every student is welcomed, supported, and celebrated as they learn and grow throughout the year.

COMPETITION PROGRAM
COMPETITION AUDITION REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 26-27 YEAR
Our Competition Dance Team is designed for dancers who are ready to take their training and performance experience to the next level. Team members participate in additional technique and ballet classes, weekly rehearsals, and attend regional and national competitions throughout the spring.
Placement is determined through an audition process and is based on technique, performance quality, and overall readiness – not solely by age. Competition dancers are expected to demonstrate dedication, strong attendance, and a commitment to both their individual growth and the success of their team.
This program offers dancers the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, develop lifelong friendships, and create unforgettable memories while representing MSOD on and off the stage.

AUDITIONS & PLACEMENT
Competition team placement is determined through an audition process, usually in June, and is based on technique, performance ability, movement quality, and how dancers blend within a group. Dancers are placed in routines and levels that best support their growth and success, not solely by age.
TRAINING & COMMITMENT
Competition dancers are expected to make dance a priority and demonstrate a strong commitment to their team. In addition to weekly routine rehearsals, dancers are required to participate in ballet & technique classes, attend summer training, and maintain consistent attendance throughout the season.
COMPETITION OPPORTUNITIES
Our team typically attends three to four regional competitions each season and one national competition every other year. Dancers may also have opportunities to participate in solos, duos, and trios, which require additional training and rehearsal time.
EXPECTATIONS
Because competition routines rely on every dancer being prepared and present, attendance and accountability are essential. Team members are expected to demonstrate dedication, sportsmanship, responsibility, and a positive attitude both in and out of the studio.
WHY JOIN THE MSOD COMPETITION TEAM?
Competition dance provides dancers with advanced training, valuable performance experience, lasting friendships, and opportunities for personal growth. Dancers develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic while creating unforgettable memories along the way.
